This year’s event will focus on the rapid development of technology and the introduction of artificial intelligence.
The IV World Conference on Creative Economy will be held in Tashkent from 2 to 4 October. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a decree on 23 August establishing an organising committee for the preparation and holding of the event. The committee will be chaired by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, while the Foundation for Culture and Art Development of Uzbekistan will be responsible for the organisation of the event, Gazeta.uz reported.
The first World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) was held in 2018 on the Indonesian island of Bali. In 2021, the conference was held in Dubai, UAE, and returned to Bali in 2022. The conference aims to promote international cooperation, emphasise the role of creativity in building an inclusive and sustainable economy, and shift the focus from a resource-based economy to a knowledge economy.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Inclusive Creativity: a changing reality’.
Special attention will be paid to the social and economic challenges posed by the rapid development of technology and the introduction of artificial intelligence.
The conference will include a meeting of economic ministers, an exhibition of achievements in the creative economy internationally and in the context of Uzbekistan, seminars, consultations, workshops and presentations.
