Italian Foreign Minister: US-Iran Talks to be Held in Rome

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani answered questions about the location of the second round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States. Tajani confirmed that “the next round of talks between the US and Iran will take place in Rome,” adding that “we have responded positively to requests from the parties and from Oman, which is acting as mediator.” The first round of talks between the US and Iran took place in Oman on April 12. Both sides said the talks were “positive and constructive”. The fact that the second round of talks will be held in Rome raises expectations in diplomatic circles as to whether a new compromise process will begin.
