Iran’s non-oil trade volume with Turkmenistan increased by 4% in value terms and 6% in weight terms in the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (20 March – 21 July 2024) compared to the same period last year (21 March – 22 July 2023).
According to Trend, citing the Iranian Customs Administration
Iran’s trade volume with Turkmenistan was 447 thousand tonnes worth about $156 million in 4 months.
In the same period last year, Iran’s trade volume with Turkmenistan was 422 thousand tonnes worth about $150 million.
Agricultural, food and industrial products, transformers, water conditioners, petrochemicals, petroleum coke, cotton, fabrics and other goods were mainly exchanged in the trade volume between the two countries.
It should be added that the volume of Iran’s non-oil trade with Turkmenistan in the last Iranian year (21 March 2023-19 March 2024) amounted to 1.39 million tonnes worth about $ 484 million. Last year, the volume of non-oil trade between Iran and Turkmenistan decreased by 0.8 percent in value terms compared to the previous year (21 March 2022 – 20 March 2023), while it increased by 5.6 percent in weight terms.
It should be noted that Iran’s trade volume with neighbouring countries amounted to 34.2 million tonnes worth $19.8 billion in 4 months. Compared to the same period last year, Iran’s trade volume with neighbouring countries increased by 6 percent in value terms and 5 percent in weight terms.
