Indonesia seeks to enhance military cooperation with China, focusing on personnel exchanges and joint exercises. This intent was conveyed by senior Indonesian military officials during Liu Zhenli’s visit to Indonesia. Liu is a member of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and Chief of the CMC Joint Staff Department.
According to the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and TNI Chief General Agus Subiyanto met with Liu in Jakarta.
Indonesian officials highlighted the cultural ties and close relationship between the two nations and expressed gratitude for China’s support. They noted the positive momentum in military relations and emphasized their willingness to expand cooperation in areas such as personnel exchanges and joint exercises.
Liu stated that China views its relationship with Indonesia strategically and aims to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties with further achievements in military collaboration, contributing to regional peace and stability.
