South Korea and Poland came together to strengthen bilateral relations and evaluate opportunities for strategic cooperation. South Korean Foreign Ministers Cho Tae-yul and Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski signed an action plan outlining their relations in the fields of politics, economy, defense and culture until 2028.
South Korea’s Foreign Minister emphasized Poland’s important position in the European Union and stated that deepening economic and political relations between the two countries would be beneficial for both sides. For their part, Polish officials expressed their desire to benefit from South Korea’s leadership in technology and innovation. During the talks, especially defense industry and military cooperation issues came to the fore. The two countries aim to develop joint projects in defense technologies and military training. In addition, opportunities for cooperation in the field of energy were also evaluated. South Korea’s nuclear energy technology and Poland’s energy diversification efforts can be an important part of this cooperation. Important steps are also planned in the field of trade and investment. New agreements are being worked on to increase the volume of trade between the two countries and to promote mutual investments. Investments by South Korean companies in Poland and Poland’s entry into the South Korean market are concrete results of this cooperation.
