French President Emmanuel Macron met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Paris. Mirziyoyev’s visit to France aims to strengthen Uzbek-French relations through high-level talks and meetings with French officials and business leaders. The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Uzbekistan was held at the Invalides Monument in Paris.

The two leaders and their delegations met at the Élysée Palace and discussed France-Uzbek relations. The talks focused in particular on trade and economy. Promoting cooperation with French companies operating in Uzbekistan, such as SUEZ, was also on the agenda. As part of the visit, several intergovernmental agreements on expanding cooperation in trade, economy and investment are planned to be signed. The visit is part of Uzbekistan’s strategy to reduce its dependence on Russia and develop mutually beneficial partnerships with European countries.
