The Danish government will allocate 4.2 billion kroner ($628.8 million) to Ukraine for arms purchases, of which 2.9 billion kroner ($434.2 million) will come from frozen Russian assets. This development was reported on 29 September on the website of the Danish Ministry of Defence.

The protocol of intent was signed in Kiev by Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and Minister of Strategic Industries German Smetanin.

According to Gazeta.Ru, it is planned to purchase Ukrainian-made weapons and equipment and deliver them to the front line by the end of the year. Denmark will allocate 1.3 billion kroner (about $194.7 million) from its own funds to Kiev for this purpose. The remaining amount will be utilised from the assets of the Russian Federation on behalf of the EU.

Earlier, on 15 September, Poulsen described military aid to Kiev as an insufficient measure and called on European countries to invest directly in Ukrainian defence companies. He also said that Brussels had asked the Danish government to take the lead in using frozen Russian assets for Ukrainian defence.
