Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning congratulated Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on signing the state border agreement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a press conference on Friday. Mao made the remarks following reports that Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov signed an agreement on delimitation and marking of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in Bishkek on Thursday.
Mao expressed great appreciation for the key role played by the leaders of both countries in resolving the border issue through peaceful negotiations. This is a positive step for regional peace, stability, development and prosperity, he said. China is ready to further strengthen cooperation with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan as a friendly neighbor and comprehensive strategic partner, Mao said. China aims to consolidate good neighborly relations with both countries, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, and build a closer China-Central Asia future community, he said.
