On Sunday, China unveiled its “No. 1 Central Document” for 2025. The document outlined priorities for further deepening rural reforms and taking firm steps to revitalize the countryside in all areas. The document, which is the first policy statement published annually by China’s central authorities, is seen as an indicator of policy priorities.

The document also stated that with reform and opening-up, as well as scientific and technological innovation as the driving force, the country will maintain grain security and avoid falling or falling back into poverty on a large scale and emphasized that the country will make every effort to improve agricultural productivity, revitalize rural areas, raise farmers’ income, and thus lay a solid foundation for the advancement of China’s modernization.
