Direct flights between China and India to resume

China and India have agreed to resume direct flights between mainland China and India, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Misri held a meeting of the China-India Foreign Minister-Vice Minister mechanism in Beijing and discussed measures to promote the implementation of the common understandings reached at the meeting between the leaders of China and India in Kazan and to improve and develop China-India relations, the statement said.

The Chinese side emphasized that both sides should act in the core interests of the two countries and the two peoples, view and address China-India relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, adopt an open and constructive attitude to actively promote dialogue, exchange of ideas and practical cooperation, positively attract public opinion and public support, enhance trust and dispel doubts, appropriately handle differences and ensure that China-India relations move forward on a sound and stable path. The Chinese and Indian sides also held frank and in-depth exchanges on issues of mutual interest.
