Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress, said China attaches great importance to its relations with Europe, adding that sound bilateral relations serve the fundamental and long-term interests of both sides and meet the common expectations of the world.
There is no fundamental conflict of interests or geopolitical conflict between China and Europe, and the two sides are great constructive forces for peace and partners contributing to each other’s success, Lou said at a press conference on Tuesday. China and Europe can complement each other’s strengths and mutually benefit by cooperating in many fields, Lou said, stressing that economic and trade cooperation between the two sides not only supports their own growth, but also contributes to the stability of global supply chains and the world economy. China-Europe relations are not directed at any third party and are not under the pressure or control of any third party, Lou said, urging the two sides to act with trust and composure in developing relations and bring more stability and certainty to the world.
