China has launched a cross-border drug procurement platform in Fangchenggang, Guangxi to strengthen health cooperation with ASEAN countries. The initiative aims to reduce costs and increase access to medical resources by managing the bulk purchase, distribution and payment of medicines through a centralized system. Developed under the Belt and Road Initiative, this project will promote deeper cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the healthcare sector. It is also seen as a model for improving healthcare in the region and aims to inspire more innovative initiatives.
