The ruling parties of China and Japan have agreed to maintain close dialogue and communication regardless of the challenges in bilateral relations.

At the ninth meeting of the China-Japan ruling parties exchange mechanism in Beijing, representatives from the Communist Party of China (CPC), Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, and Komeito Party reaffirmed the platform’s significance since its inception in 2006.

Discussions focused on strengthening mutual trust, cultural exchange, and cooperation, while emphasizing adherence to the principles of the four China-Japan political documents. Both sides committed to building a stable and constructive relationship aligned with modern requirements.

The parties addressed key issues, including Japan’s discharge of nuclear-contaminated water from Fukushima and seafood imports, emphasizing proper communication and consultation. Plans for the 10th meeting in Japan this autumn were agreed upon in principle.

China’s top political advisor Wang Huning urged both sides to fulfill commitments made by their leaders and deepen bilateral relations for regional and global prosperity.
