The Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly opposed the US Commerce Department’s move to consider rules that may restrict or ban Chinese drones in the US.
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced it is seeking public comments on a rule to safeguard the information and communication technology supply chain for drones.
The rule claims commercial drones could be remotely accessed and manipulated by China and Russia, exposing sensitive US data.
China firmly opposes the overstretching of national security concerns and the disruption of global supply chains, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. She emphasized that China will take all necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights.
