NATO plans to provide military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to enable the country to continue fighting in the conflict with Russia in 2025. This was announced by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Wednesday, 13 November, following a meeting in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

“All the focus today was primarily on what we could do to make sure that Ukraine is in the strongest possible condition as far as it can be in 2025” Blinken said at a press conference broadcast on Reuters YouTube channel.

He expressed hope that NATO members would increase their support for Kiev.

‘We have 50 countries that are supporting Ukraine, and I am convinced from today’s discussions and the discussions that we have almost every day that this support will continue, and not only. I expect it to increase,’ Blinken said.

Earlier on 12 November, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder told a briefing that the US has $9.3 billion in agreed aid to Ukraine. Ryder said that because the US Department of Defence understands the urgency of the situation because of the situation on the battlefield, it will continue to do everything it can to make sure Ukraine has everything it needs.
