The administration of US President Joe Biden has done a tremendous disservice to Russian-US relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a commentary to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
“The disservice is tremendous, but Trump’s administration also seriously damaged relations, largely due to the legacy left by Obama. The sanctions imposed by Obama just weeks before Trump’s inauguration were dishonorable and unethical, with our diplomats expelled and diplomatic properties seized. Biden’s administration seems to follow the same path,” Lavrov stated.
Commenting on Biden’s comparison with Putin, Lavrov said, “If the US President assesses his term based on a theatrical gesture like ‘I was in Kiev, Putin wasn’t,’ it shows the seriousness of his approach to his duties.”
