Uzbekistan is one of Belarus’ most important trading partners in Central Asia and the CIS. Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko made this statement at the Uzbek-Belarusian business forum in Samarkand, BelTA reports.
The business forum was also attended by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov. Golovchenko emphasised that Uzbekistan is one of the most important trading partners for Belarus in Central Asia and the CIS. He added that the dialogue between the two countries is a bright example of how relations between states can develop.
Roman Golovchenko noted that Minsk, with an open and export-oriented economy, attaches importance to “economic diplomacy” in its development and foreign policy. Golovchenko also noted that the systematic diversification of exports while maintaining and strengthening their position in traditional markets is one of the main goals of the republic’s economic policy.
The forum was organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus.
