A meeting of the Committee of High Ranking Officials of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) was held in the Azerbaijani capital Baku. The meeting was organized to discuss regional security, stability and cooperation issues.
The meeting was attended by high-level representatives of OSCE member states. In particular, the agenda included conflict prevention, confidence-building measures, human rights, strengthening democratic institutions and economic cooperation. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting was of great importance for discussing steps to ensure regional and international security. They also discussed ways to make the OSCE’s activities more effective and increase cooperation among the member states.
The meeting also focused on the future activities and priorities of the OSCE. In particular, the participants emphasized the need to develop more effective mechanisms for conflict prevention and peacekeeping.
