Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed issues of strategic partnership

Attending the Extraordinary Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The two ministers held talks on strategic partnership and development of bilateral relations. They discussed issues of deepening cooperation in political, economic, trade and cultural spheres.

During the talks, the current state of cooperation between the two countries was assessed and the implementation of new projects, especially in the fields of energy, defense, education and tourism, was emphasized. Azerbaijan and Pakistan also decided to adopt a common position on regional and global security issues. “Our strategic partnership with Pakistan continues to strengthen in the interests of both countries. Friendship and cooperation between the two countries are of great importance for regional stability and development,” the statement said. “Azerbaijan is an important partner of Pakistan in the South Caucasus. Relations between the two countries are developing on the basis of mutual trust and understanding. We will continue our efforts to further advance our strategic partnership,” the Foreign Ministry said.
