Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmus. Information about the meeting was published by the Georgian Parliament, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia decided to establish a trilateral parliamentary working format to strengthen regional cooperation.
Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Sahibe Gafarova said that this initiative will further develop political, economic and cultural ties between the three countries. “This parliamentary cooperation mechanism will contribute to increasing stability and prosperity in our region,” Gafarova said. The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmuş, emphasized his support for the initiative and said, “Coordination between the parliaments of the three brotherly countries will accelerate regional development projects.” Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuvashvili said that this step will make an important contribution to the Caucasus integration process.
