Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov visited the People’s Republic of China on March 26-28. As part of the visit, the next round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and China was held in Beijing on March 28. The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Liu Bin.
During the talks, issues of cooperation in many areas such as politics, economy, trade, energy, green transformation, digital development, transportation, logistics, education, culture and tourism were discussed. In particular, the importance of mutual high-level visits and their positive impact on the development of bilateral relations were emphasized. The historical significance of the “Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China” adopted on July 3, 2024 at the meeting of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping was also discussed. It was noted that this political document opens wide horizons for strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
