During his working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov participated in and delivered a speech at the Nuclear Energy Summit.
Minister Bayramov touched upon the issues related to Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and outlined the country’s stance on the theme of the event.
Minister Bayramov emphasized that the inclusion of nuclear energy as one of the methods for “reducing greenhouse gas emissions” in the text of the Global Stocktake of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) is a significant outcome of global efforts aimed at ensuring the safe utilization of nuclear energy.
In this regard, he praised the commendable activities of the IAEA aimed at studying the impact of nuclear energy on the environment, mentioning initiatives such as “Atoms4Climate.”
