Members of the European Parliament (EP) adopted a resolution on the enlargement policy of the European Union (EU), calling on the leaders of the community at the summit in Brussels on 14-15 December to support the opening of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova.
According to TASS, the plenary session in Strasbourg was published on the parliament’s website.
“The European Parliament calls on the European Council at its summit on 14 and 15 December 2023 to decide to open accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova,” the text of the resolution reads.
MEPs also called for similar negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the same time, they expressed their support for granting Georgia official candidate status, but on condition that “specific measures are taken to this end”.
