Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko held talks with his counterpart.
Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vasilenko paid a working visit to Prague and met with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jiří Kozák. During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Czech relations, including political, trade, economic and cultural cooperation, were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
The development of political contacts and preparations for the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, scheduled for the second half of 2024, were discussed. Regional and international interaction, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organisations such as the UN and the OSCE were also discussed.
The importance of strengthening Kazakhstan’s partnership with the European Union within the framework of the Enhanced Partnership Agreement was particularly emphasised.
Kazakhstan expressed interest in cooperation with Czech companies such as Skoda Transportation and Tatra, whose technologies could have a positive impact on various sectors of the country’s economy.
Vasilenko also noted the success of the Przewalski horse reintroduction initiative organised by the Prague Zoo. The first group of seven horses was successfully delivered and installed in Kazakhstan in June this year.
‘This project is a significant contribution to the preservation of one of the rarest species of wildlife,’ said the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan.
During his visit to Prague, he also attended the GLOBSEC-2024 international forum, where strategic issues at the global level were discussed.
