Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are developing a project to export Kazakhstan’s ‘green’ energy through the territory of Azerbaijan.
Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel made the announcement at the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan tourism forum held at the embassy premises, Trend reported on Tuesday.
‘A project is being developed to export Kazakhstan’s ‘green’ energy through the territory of Azerbaijan,’ the ambassador said.
According to the ambassador, the two countries have established close mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.
Alim Bayel also drew attention to joint projects (in particular, the importance of the Central Corridor), which play an important role not only for the two countries, but also for the entire region.
The Ambassador also touched upon cooperation in the tourism sector, presenting statistical data.
‘Last year, 58,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. From January to June 2024, more than 38,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. In general, Kazakhstan ranks third after China and India in terms of the growth dynamics of tourist flows to Azerbaijan,’ he said.
Recall that on 1 May in Tashkent, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the integration of energy systems based on the export of the ‘green’ energy of these countries through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea to Europe via Romania, Hungary and possibly other EU countries.
