Prof. Dr. Cem Karadeli, Chief Advisor of the Ankara Center for Crisis and Political Studies (ANKASAM), evaluated the European Parliament elections for Axar.az and stated that the election results caused political turmoil in France and Germany. Prof. Dr. Cem Karadeli said, “Far-right extremists received a high percentage of votes, while the candidates supported by Macron’s party failed. There were similar results in Germany, which led to a major political upheaval.” Prof. Dr. Cem Karadeli stated that the people gave a strong message to their governments with the elections and said, “These results will have great effects on the future of the European Union and the course of the Ukrainian war.” In addition, Prof. Dr. Cem Karadeli said that rising energy costs and inflation were influential in voters’ preferences and France’s loss of influence in Africa was also an important factor.
