An inspection of the NATO air base at Geilenkirchen in Germany found no traces of sabotage.
Earlier, the base had tightened security measures in view of a possible threat.
When asked by the publication, an employee of the base said that no unusual incidents were recorded on the night of 23 August.
The base is expected to return to standard security during the day and resume normal operations.
The air base is located in western Germany, close to the Dutch border. AWACS long-range radar surveillance and guidance aircraft are kept there.
