The recently signed multilateral agreement with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan within COP29 will create conditions for export of ‘green’ energy to Europe.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this during his speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week (ADSW) summit in the United Arab Emirates, Trend reports.

‘The first steps have been taken to revive the Great Silk Road through energy interconnectivity,’ he said.

The head of state also noted that at the COP28 and COP29 conferences in Dubai and Baku, as well as at other international forums, Uzbekistan has put forward a number of initiatives to combat the negative effects of global climate change.

The UAE capital Abu Dhabi is hosting the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Week, which will last until 18 January.

The event is held under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. ADSW will bring together 13 heads of state, more than 140 ministers and senior officials, as well as business and technology leaders to accelerate socio-economic and technological progress and unlock potential economic opportunities estimated at $10 trillion.
