A memorandum of understanding signed between the French Development Agency (AFD), the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Uzbekistan introduces innovative sustainable development tools and strategies in the country, AFD’s director in Uzbekistan Olivier Granvoine told Trend.
‘SDSN is working with the Uzbek Ministry of Finance and the Centre for Economic Research and Reform (CERR), a government think tank specialising in economic analysis. The memorandum is an important step towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Uzbekistan. It aims to develop specialised tools to monitor progress towards the SDGs, strengthen institutional capacity and facilitate knowledge transfer,’ he said.
SDSN’s contribution will focus on adapting the quantitative analysis approach and tools successfully tested in countries such as Benin to track progress towards the SDGs at the national level, he said.
