US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Barcena in Washington to discuss border control and illegal migration.
According to the Report, in a written statement made by Matthew Miller, Head of the US State Department Press Office, the following statements were made
“During the meeting, Secretary Blinken and the US delegation noted that our coordinated efforts with Mexico have yielded positive results at our common border,” the statement said.
Miller said the two sides discussed the results of joint efforts to tighten immigration controls on bus and rail routes, prevent smuggling and increase the deportation of illegally staying persons from both countries. Blinken and Barcena also raised the issue of joint measures to combat human and arms trafficking.
