The US Armed Forces are considering the option of permanently deploying the latest 38 modernised F-15EX fighter jets at the Kadena base on the Japanese island of Okinawa.
The United States plans to return to the plan for the permanent deployment of fighter jets at the Kadena airbase, from 2022, when it began to gradually withdraw 48 outdated F-15C fighter jets.
In turn, it was intended to deploy combat aircraft here on a rotational basis, but this option was recognised as no longer sustainable.
The Cadena base is the largest US Air Force facility outside US territory.
