US authorities will allocate $40 million to Argentina for defence needs under the military assistance programme to foreign countries.

According to the report, the US Embassy in Argentina said in a statement.

“The United States is proud to announce that it will provide $40 million to Argentina under the Foreign Military Assistance programme to support defence modernisation. This is the first time since 2003 that Argentina has received funding from the US military assistance programme,” the embassy said.

The embassy added that the assistance allows Argentina to spend the allocated funds to “improve defence products, training and services in the United States, as well as interoperability with the US Armed Forces”.

“This assistance will support Argentina’s military modernisation efforts and assist the country’s procurement of F-16 supersonic fighter jets,” the statement said.

The diplomatic mission concluded its statement as follows: “The US government is working closely with its Argentine partners to further strengthen Argentina’s security and the defence partnership between the two countries under the F-16 programme.”https://report.az/ru/drugie-strany/ssha-vydelyat-argentine-40-mln-na-oboronu-na-fone-planov-buenos-ajresa-stat-partnerom-nato/
