The United States is preparing new sanctions against Venezuelan citizens linked to President Nicolas Maduro.

According to the agency, the US Treasury Department’s restrictive measures will be aimed at 15 people. According to the agency, these persons have prevented free and fair presidential elections in Venezuela. Among those to be sanctioned are employees of electoral bodies, intelligence and courts.
Washington could announce new restrictions this week, the agency said.
Recall that on 2 September, the United States arrested Maduro’s plane in the Dominican Republic and transferred it to the state of Florida. The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry described this step as piracy.
