Azerbaijani deputy FM highlights energy security, green transition at Doha Forum

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Fariz Rzayev, paid a working visit to Qatar on December 7-8 to attend the 22nd Doha Forum.

Rzayev participated in a panel session titled “Central Asia and the New Era of Global Energy Security.”

In his remarks, he provided insights into Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, focusing on the country’s energy and transport projects. Rzayev highlighted their role in enhancing regional development and security, as well as Baku’s initiatives to transition to green energy and utilize alternative energy sources. He also detailed the work undertaken during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference (COP29) of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

During the session, he addressed questions from attendees regarding Azerbaijan’s foreign policy direction, ongoing regional developments, the country’s successful leadership of COP29, and the key decisions made at the conference.

Doha Forum is a global platform for dialogue, bringing together leaders in policy to discuss critical challenges facing the world, and to build innovative and action-driven networks.
