NATO has promised not to weaken its support for Ukraine after Russia hit its territory with a ballistic missile.
According to a statement issued by the alliance’s press service following an emergency meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the ambassadorial level.
The meeting was chaired by NATO Deputy Secretary General Boris Ruge, as Secretary General Mark Rutte was on a visit to Greece at the time.
It is noted that the ambassadors discussed the security situation in Ukraine after Russia launched an experimental medium-range ballistic missile. During the meeting, senior Ukrainian military officials briefed NATO via video link on the results of the Russian strike.
NATO ambassadors confirmed that this will not change support for Ukraine and this strike should not change the course of the conflict, the statement said.
We shall remind you that on 21 November, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia had struck an industrial facility in Dnipro with a ballistic missile in non-nuclear hypersonic configuration.
