A number of documents were signed following a meeting between Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Inmin Yang.
This was reported on Monday by Trend with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
In particular, Kyrgyz Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev and Zheng Wu, head of ADB’s Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan, signed the following agreements:
– Issyk-Kul ring road improvement project (Barskoon – Karakol),
– additional financing for the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Programme in Naryn Oblast,
– framework agreement on financing plan in 2025 between Kyrgyzstan and ADB.
During the meeting, A. Zhaparov and I. Yan discussed key issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and ADB, including opportunities for financing infrastructure projects, sustainable development initiatives, and increasing the investment attractiveness of the region.
Zhaparov spoke about recent achievements in the development of the country’s economy, emphasising the priority of implementing large-scale strategic projects – the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
In turn, the Vice President noted ADB’s readiness to continue active co-operation and provide the necessary resources to achieve common goals and implement projects and initiatives important for the country.
