Uzbekistan and the World Bank will implement projects worth $ 12 billion

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Antonella Bassani, Vice President for Europe and Central Asia of the World Bank on 30 September. According to the press service of the Presidential Administration, the implementation of joint projects with a total cost of $ 12 billion was discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation with the World Bank Group, as well as possible support for the reform programme being implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of this international financial institution.

Mirziyoyev and Bassani underlined the successful results of bilateral interaction, noting that in recent years the portfolio of joint projects has exceeded $ 12 billion. An important event was the opening of the World Bank’s regional office in Tashkent in July this year.
