Western arms deliveries to Ukraine are pointless and cannot change the situation on the battlefield.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó made this statement during the general political debate at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, APA quoted TASS as saying.
‘We must honestly ask ourselves whether the arms deliveries [by the West to Ukraine] were rational. Obviously they were not rational because they did not change the situation on the battlefield and did not bring us closer to peace. The arms deliveries only increased the volume of weapons on both sides of the battlefield, cost more lives and prolonged the war.’
Szijjártó expressed the hope that ‘those who are considering sending more weapons to Ukraine will take these consequences into account’.
