Timur Tlegenov, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the International Civil Aviation Organisation, was joined by the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to Austria and the regional European group at ICAO (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland), Trend reported on Monday. It appeared during his meeting with Christian Schleifer.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral Kazakh-Austrian and Kazakh-European cooperation issues, including interaction in ICAO.
Christian Schleifer emphasised Kazakhstan’s authority in ICAO and in the international arena as a whole.
The Head of the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to ICAO spoke about the current state of the domestic civil aviation sector and plans for its further development. He also highlighted plans to modernise existing airports and build new airports and aviation infrastructure, open new flights, including between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Austria, improve compliance with ICAO standards on flight safety and aviation security.
Earlier, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia (CAA) agreed to continue and expand cooperation in the field of flight safety and aviation security.
