The US State Department has approved the possible sale of missiles totalling $ 5 billion to Germany for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

According to the Report, this was reported by the Department of Defence’s Security Cooperation Agency, which is responsible for the supply of military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts.

The document states that Germany had previously requested some 600 PAC-3 MSE missiles and related equipment from the United States for the amount in question.

It is argued that arms deliveries under the approved agreement are in line with US foreign policy and national security interests and will strengthen Germany’s ability to respond to current and future threats.

‘The missile sale will not change the fundamental balance of power in the region,’ the statement said. According to the information provided, the State Department also approved the possible sale of six MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicles and related equipment to Italy for $ 738 million. https://report.az/ru/drugie-strany/gosdep-ssha-odobril-vozmozhnuyu-prodazhu-germanii-raket-dlya-zrk-patriot-na-5-mlrd/
