The sides will consider the possibilities of expanding cooperation in industry, energy, logistics, transport and other areas.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev accepted the invitation of Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and left for Astana, where he will stay from 7 to 9 August. This was announced by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, meetings between the two heads of state will be held, as well as the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
Mirziyoyev will also take part in the consultative meeting of Central Asian heads of state and the summit of the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue in the capital of Kazakhstan on August 9.
During the visit, the expansion of cooperation in various fields such as trade, industry, transport, energy and agriculture is expected to be discussed. The sides will sign several documents aimed at strengthening relations between the countries. Business and cultural events are also planned within the framework of the state visit, including the opening of a monument to the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi.
