EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel will visit Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan from 1 to 3 August.
In a difficult geopolitical context, the visit will be a good opportunity to reaffirm the EU’s commitment to further develop its relations with both countries and the entire Central Asian region, Trend reported on Wednesday, citing the European External Action Service.
According to the information, the visit will start on 1 August in Kazakhstan and will last for two days. Borrel will hold a bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu. A joint press conference will follow the meeting. Borrel will also meet with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the same day.
Borrel, who will pass to Kyrgyzstan on Saturday, will hold a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev. Separate meetings are also planned with Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev.
