Turkmenistan is preparing to host the 37th meeting of the CIS Consultative Council on Labour, Employment and Social Protection. The event will be held in Ashgabat on 17-18 October this year, TDH reported.
Information about the meeting was announced at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Deputy Prime Minister Khojamyrat Geldimiradov presented a report on the results of the preliminary meeting held on 14 June via video conference with the participation of representatives of the CIS countries and organisational issues.
During the meeting it was noted that Turkmenistan actively participates in the development of cooperation within the CIS. In particular, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS member states was developed and adopted in 2019. This document defines interaction in the field of labour, employment and social protection of the population as one of the priority areas of the CIS.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of strengthening ties with the CIS in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as expanding cooperation with the sectoral structures of the Commonwealth. He instructed to prepare well for the upcoming meeting of the Consultative Council, the importance of which he emphasised for Turkmenistan and the entire region.
