Tashkent hosted the “Forum on the Development of the Food Industry of Uzbekistan and Japan” organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan and the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Trend reported.
According to the information, the forum was attended by government officials and business representatives of both countries. The participants discussed new opportunities for mutual development and cooperation in the agriculture and food industry.
Representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of Japan and Uzbekistan Mizuno Masayoshi and Jamoliddin Babakhanov made welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony.
Representatives of the Japanese government and business presented agricultural technologies and discussed their potential application in Uzbekistan. Japanese partners expressed interest in providing innovative seeds to Uzbek farmers.
Uzbek representatives emphasised the recent achievements in agriculture, particularly in aquaculture and organic farming, which have attracted foreign investment and technology. Japan is a key partner in this development.
