Moldova’s decision to start accession negotiations to the EU could be taken in the summer.
According to Russian media reports, these conditions were voiced by Cristina Gerasimova, the country’s deputy prime minister for European integration.
According to the politician, the General Affairs Council, which will meet on 24 June, is likely to decide to hold an intergovernmental conference.
Gerasimova noted that the conference could take place between meetings of European Union foreign ministers and EU heads of state. The conference will be attended by ‘a small group of representatives of the Moldovan authorities’.
