Malaysian Prime Minister to visit Uzbekistan

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan from 17 to 19 May, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported, Trend reports.

According to the press service, the visit will take place at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

On the first day of the visit, events and meetings at the highest level are planned in Tashkent. The summit agenda includes the development of political dialogue, expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as the promotion of joint programmes and projects in trade, innovation, energy, petrochemicals, industry, electrical engineering, electronics, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

They will also exchange views on current international issues.

The Malaysian Prime Minister will visit Samarkand and Bukhara to get acquainted with the cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of Uzbekistan and participate in a joint business forum.
