Speaking at the international B5+1 forum in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Minister of National Economy Timur Zhaksylykov said that the volume of trade between the countries of the Central Asian region exceeded $11 billion, Trend reported.
Zhaksylykov emphasised that the volume of mutual trade has increased 2.5 times in the last 10 years.
Zhaksylykov emphasised the importance of developing trade relations between the countries of the region as it contributes to economic growth, job creation and socio-economic prosperity. Zhaksylykov also emphasised that Kazakhstan is the largest exporter in the region and its share in the total trade volume is about 70%.
The B5+1 Forum brought together more than 200 experts and investors from five Central Asian countries and the United States to strengthen cooperation and improve the business environment in the region. The B5+1 initiative is designed to ensure active interaction between the business community and the governments of Central Asian countries with the participation of the United States.
