President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. His plane successfully landed on the eve of 7 February at the International Airport named after Islam Karimov. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The meeting of the Belarusian statesman on board the aircraft was organised with the participation of senior officials of Uzbekistan and Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik, who arrived earlier.
Immediately after his arrival in the Uzbek capital, Lukashenko held an informal meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The official talks took place today, 8 February, in Tashkent.
The meeting of the two leaders took place both in a one-on-one format and in an expanded format with the participation of delegations of both countries. The dialogue focused on further deepening of state-to-state relations and intensification of trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
During the talks, special attention was paid to the development of cooperation ties in various industrial sectors, as well as cooperation in the fields of agriculture, science, education and tourism.
