Despite external fears, relations with China are extremely important for the republic
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is confident that cooperation with China is extremely important for Kazakhstan and should not give way to fears brought from outside or based on perceptions of bygone days. Tokayev made this statement in an interview with the state broadcaster Egemen Qazaqstan, the presidential press service said.
Tokayev described China as a highly developed state, one of whose strengths is high technology. And this superiority is recognised by the whole world. According to the President of Kazakhstan, relations between the Republic and China are actively developing in the spirit of friendship, good neighbourliness and eternal strategic partnership.
The President noted that the volume of mutual trade between the two countries has shown unprecedented growth and in the first 10 months of 2023 reached $ 24.3 billion, setting a new record. Tokayev also added that personal contacts between the leaders of Kazakhstan and China fully reflect the high level of ties between the two countries, and Kazakh-Chinese relations can be safely called exemplary.
