Uzbek authorities allocate 444 billion soums to support youth

A report on the work carried out on youth policy in 2023 and plans for 2024 was presented to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was noted at the meeting that this year 338 thousand young people were provided with material assistance in the amount of 444 billion soums. This was reported by the presidential press service.

The main expenditures were aimed at covering the costs of student contracts and training in foreign languages and modern professions. In addition, unemployed young people were given working tools to learn new skills and find a job.

The meeting also discussed plans for the development of the youth policy area in the coming year. It is envisaged to introduce a new approach to working with young people in all regions of the country. One of the innovations will be the establishment of the Children’s Organisation of Uzbekistan, which will promote the development of talents, interests and skills of the country’s children.

It is also planned to increase the number of young people learning foreign languages under the “Ibrat Farzandlari” project to 1 million in 2024. Work will also be carried out to increase the number of young readers under the Mutolaa programme to 1.5 million. For the implementation of these plans, new infrastructure facilities will be created in the regions and conditions will be created for the development of talents and skills of young people through meaningful leisure activities.
